The South St. Paul school district will join the growing number of institutions providing their students with iPads. The district will spend $625,000 in three years to provide 3,200 students will 600 iPads and teachers and school board members with 200 iPads.
School leaders said the iPads will allow teachers to make classrooms more personal: For instance, advanced students can solve harder math problems on their iPads while a teacher is working with those still grasping new concepts.
“These devices will allow students to move faster or slower if they need to,” Webb said.
Students and teachers can also explore dozens of educational applications on the iPads, inspiring a new engagement with classroom learning.
